Pack 175 Adult Training Policy
ADULT TRAINING AND TRAINING REIMBURSEMENT POLICY
Cub Scout Pack 175 wants to encourage the continued education
and training of its volunteer adult leaders. To demonstrate its
commitment to this continued education, Pack 175 has adopted a
goal to have 100% of its volunteer leaders complete a minimum
curriculum of leadership training. This minimum level of training
includes BSA Youth Protection Training, BSA Fast Start Training
appropriate for the current leadership position, Cub Scout Leader
Fundamentals, Red Cross CPR, and Red Cross Basic First Aid. To
further support its training goals, Pack 175 will reimburse, subject
to budgetary constraints, the direct out-of-pocket costs of successfully
completing approved training programs for its volunteer adult
leaders in the following areas:
- Red Cross CPR
- Red Cross Basic First Aid
- BSA Youth Protection Training
- Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
- BSA Fast Start Training appropriate to the current leadership
position
- BSA Fast Start Training for leadership positions with a commitment
from the adult leader to assume the volunteer position for which
training is reimbursed by the Pack.
- Cub Scout Leader Fundamentals
- Webelos Outdoor Training
- Scouting University
- Cub Scout Pow-wows
- Safe Swim Defense
- Safety Afloat
- Other training with the prior approval of the Pack Committee
Pack 175 will also consider reimbursement of advanced leader
training on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Pack
Committee for those volunteer adult leaders that have demonstrated
a long-term commitment to Cub Scouting and Pack 175. This training
can include, but is not limited to the following training programs:
- BSA National Camp School
- BSA Lifeguard Training
- Wood Badge Leadership Training
- Red Cross or BSA Advanced First Aid
- Red Cross Delayed Response First Aid Training
The Assistant Cubmaster shall coordinate a training program for
the volunteer adult leaders. This coordination shall include remaining
aware of training opportunities within the Jayhawk Area Council
and the Shawnee District. Where appropriate, the Assistant Cubmaster
will arrange for necessary training to be presented by qualified
individuals to volunteer adult leaders of Cub Scout Pack 175.
