Adult Training Opportunities
Shawnee District Cub Scout Leader Training
Youth Protection is required information for all leaders.
Our Council just made it easier for you to get started on your
training. Complete training online at your convenience!
Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat are offered and at least
one leader must have completed the training in the past two
years to hold an aquatic event like a swimming party. Complete
training online at your convenience!
Roundtable
Jayhawk Council also holds council wide roundtable discussions and training on
the first Thursday of each month at the Menninger Army Reserve Center. The
Menninger Army Reserve Center is located at 500 SW 42nd St, Topeka, Kansas. Map
to Army Reserve Center. These are an excellent way to meet fellow scouters,
get new ideas, exchange information, and receive additional training. Attendance
at 4 roundtables is an alternative to participating in a Pow-Wow or the University
of Scouting toward adult recognition awards.
The Council maintains a lending library of videotapes at the
Scout Office on various topics, training materials and other information.
The Scout Office is located at 1020 SE Monroe in Topeka, Kansas.

Additional training opportunities are available. Please check
the Jayhawk
Council Calendar of Events for a list of scheduled training
sessions. If you desire additional training that will benefit
the boys in your Den, our Pack or the Council, just ask the Pack
Committee Chair or the Assistant Cubmaster for more information.
