Cub Pack 175 2005 Summertime Activities
Have some fun and earn some
achievements! We're going to have
a great summer!
National
Trails Day Hike
Saturday, June 4th, 10:00am
Meet at the Kansas Museum of History, 6425 SW 6th
Ave., by the gazebo. Everyone will hike the trail
of their own choice and at their own pace. If you
can't make 10:00, come anytime between 10:00 and
2:00 and report it to your Den Leader.
Fishing Derby
at the Governor's Pond
Wednesday, June 29th, 6:00-8:00pm
We will have a 30 minute instruction session from
Kansas Fish & Game covering fishing techniques (e.g.,
rod and reel operation, casting practice), fishing
safety, fishing ethics, and fish identification.
After the clinic, fish to your heart's content or
they have to take the poles back, whichever comes
first! Bring your own pole and gear, some additional
gear will be available. The fishing clinic will be
held unless there is lightning. In case of rain only,
the show will go on. |
Bicycle Safety Presentation
and Ride
Saturday, July 9, 9:00am
Park and meet at the parking lot behind Firehouse
#5 at 720 SW 21st (by the Expocentre) for an informative
workshop on bicycle safety. Afterwards, ride as long
as you desire on the Shunga Trails. All riders must
wear helmets. No riders with training wheels unless
accompanied by a parent, please.
Bowling
Saturday, July 23rd, 1:00-3:00pm
Beat the heat with Pack 175 at Gage Bowl. Bring
families and friends and enjoy the air conditioning
and hot action. Boys who participate can earn the
bowling belt loop. Afterwards, meet us at Tad's for
snow cones!

Phone
Book Recycling
Tuesday, August 9th, 6:00-8:00pm
Meet at McDonald's at 21st & Belle and bring
10 old phone books. McDonald's will reward each child
a free small drink for participating. If you cannot
come, you can still recycle phone books on another
night, at any location. All boys must report the
number of phone books recycled to their den leader. Ice Cream Social
and Kite Fly
Sunday, August 14th, 2:00-4:00pm
Bring your kite and ice-cream making supplies and
meet us at the Elsbernd's, SW 61st and Fairlawn.
This is our Pack's annual summer wrap-up just before
school starts. Come out to fly some kites, eat
homemade ice cream and lots of outdoor games. Lots
of fun! |
