National Trails Day Hike
Saturday, June 5th, 10:00am

Meet at the Kansas Museum of History, 6425 SW 6th Ave., by the gazebo. Everyone will hike the trail of their own choice and at their own pace.

Street Legal
Thursday, July 15, 7:00pm

Come to Heartland Park and watch amateur street racing and get a behind-the-scenes tour of our local world-class facilities. This is our second make-up for rainouts, so pray for good weather!

Felker Park Nature Walk
Sunday, July 11, 6:00-8:00pm

SHAWNEE DISTRICT ACTIVITY -- Meet at the east side of the parking lot at Felker Park, 2540 Gage, between the ball diamonds for a walk to watch birds and other animal and plant life in the nature area just southeast of the Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Administration Medical Center, north of the Shunga Trail.

Bowling
Friday, July 23, 7:00-8:00pm

Come to Gage Bowl from 7-8pm to beat the heat and earn the bowling belt loop and pin. Nifty fifty day - Pay $5 at the door and get games of bowling, shoe rental, 16oz soft drinks, hot dogs and popcorn for just 50¢ (good 5-9pm).

Baby Supply Drive
Monday, July 26, 7:00-8:00pm

The phone books are not printed or distributed yet, so we'll recycle them in the Fall. In the meantime, we are collecting diapers, formula and other Baby Supplies for the Florence Crittenton Services. Florence Crittenton provides residential care for pregnant and parenting teens as well as girls in the juvenile justice system and those qualified as child in need of care. We are collecting Enfamil with Iron, small feeding bottles, large feeding bottles, newborn diapers, diapers #1, diaper wipes, etc. and money to help these babies. Bring your donations to the church parking lot!

Fishing Derby at the Governor's Pond
Monday, August 2nd, 6:00-8:00pm

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will provide a 30 minute instruction session covering fishing techniques (e.g., rod and reel operation, casting practice), fishing safety, fishing ethics, and fish identification. They will also provide enough poles and bait for all the boys to use. After the clinic, fish to your heart's content or they have to take the poles back, whichever comes first! Bring your own pole and bait, if you prefer. The fishing clinic will be held unless there is lightning. In case of rain only, the show will go on.

MacLennan Park Nature Walk & Kite Fly
Saturday, August 14, 3:00-6:00pm

SHAWNEE DISTRICT ACTIVITY -- Meet in the parking lot north of 6th St, west of Fairlawn, at the south end of the lane that extends south from Cedar Crest, the Governor's Residence to 6th St. We'll walk the various trails in the park, through the woods and around the ponds. Guides will describe historical aspects, and the natural and environmental characteristics of the park. If the wind is right, there will be opportunity to fly kits in the meadow on the east side of the park along Fairlawn Rd.

Ice Cream Social
Sunday, August 15, 6:30-8:30pm

Our final summer pack activity will be an Ice Cream Social at the Elsbernd House, 6050 SW Fairlawn Dr. Bring your ice cream maker and supplies (ice, rock salt, ingredients, etc.). We will have sports, games and fun, along with a model airplane demonstration, weather permitting. Bring the whole family and enjoy an evening of food and fun!

Remember, any scout who attends three or more summertime activities will earn the summertime activity award. If you are unable to attend our pack activities, you can also attend the District Summertime Activities.
